Book 11: The Book of Al-Jumuah (Friday)

كِتَاب الْجُمُعَةِ

Chapter 2

(2) Chapter. The superiority of taking a bath on Friday. And is it necessary for boys and womens to attend the Friday (prayer)?

2- بَابُ فَضْلِ الْغُسْلِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ، وَهَلْ عَلَى الصَّبِيِّ شُهُودُ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ أَوْ عَلَى النِّسَاءِ:

English narration

Narrated by أبو سعيد الخدري

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) (p.b.u.h) said, "The taking of a bath on Friday is compulsory for every male (Muslim) who has attained the age of puberty."

النص العربي

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : "

غُسْلُ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ وَاجِبٌ عَلَى كُلِّ مُحْتَلِمٍ

" .
