Book 10: The Book of Adhan

كِتَاب الْأَذَانِ

Chapter 23

(23) Chapter. One should not stand for As-Salat (the prayer) hurriedly but with calmness and solemnity.

23- بَابُ لاَ يَسْعَى إِلَى الصَّلاَةِ مُسْتَعْجِلاً، وَلْيَقُمْ بِالسَّكِينَةِ وَالْوَقَارِ:

English narration

Narrated by علي بن المبارك الهنائي

My father said, "Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, 'If the Iqama is pronounced, then do not stand for the prayer till you see me (in front of you) and do it calmly.' "

النص العربي

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : "

إِذَا أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَلَا تَقُومُوا حَتَّى تَرَوْنِي وَعَلَيْكُمْ بِالسَّكِينَةِ

" ، تَابَعَهُ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ .
