Hadith 2590

Book 51: The Book of Gifts and The Superiority of Giving Gifts and The Exhortation for Giving Gifts

كِتَاب الْهِبَةِ وَفَضْلِهَا وَالتَّحْرِيضِ عَلَيْهَا

Chapter 15

(15) Chapter. It is permissible for a women to giving gifts to somebody other than her husband.

15- بَابُ هِبَةِ الْمَرْأَةِ لِغَيْرِ زَوْجِهَا:

English narration

Narrated by أسماء بنت أبي بكر القرشية

Once I said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! I have no property except what has been given to me by Az-Zubair (i.e. her husband). May I give in charity?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Give in charity and do not withhold it; otherwise Allah will withhold it back from you . "

النص العربي

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، قَالَتْ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، مَا لِيَ مَالٌ إِلَّا مَا أَدْخَلَ عَلَيَّ الزُّبَيْرُ ، فَأَتَصَدَّقُ ؟ قَالَ : "

تَصَدَّقِي ، وَلَا تُوعِي فَيُوعَى عَلَيْكِ

" .
