Book 67: The Book of (The Wedlock)

كِتَاب النِّكَاحِ

Chapter 106

(106) Chapter. If a man loves some of his wives more than the others.

106- بَابُ حُبِّ الرَّجُلِ بَعْضَ نِسَائِهِ أَفْضَلَ مِنْ بَعْضٍ:

English narration

Narrated by عمر بن الخطاب العدوي

that `Umar entered upon Hafsa and said, "O my daughter! Do not be misled by the manners of her who is proud of her beauty because of the love of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) for her." By 'her' he meant `Aisha. `Umar added, "Then I told that to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and he smiled (on hearing that).

النص العربي

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ حُنَيْنٍ ، سَمِعَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ ، "

دَخَلَ عَلَى حَفْصَةَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا بُنَيَّةِ ، لَا يَغُرَّنَّكِ هَذِهِ الَّتِي أَعْجَبَهَا حُسْنُهَا حُبُّ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِيَّاهَا ، يُرِيدُ عَائِشَةَ ، فَقَصَصْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَتَبَسَّمَ
