Book 57: The Book of The Obligations of Khumus

كِتَاب فَرْضِ الْخُمُسِ

Chapter 16

(16) Chapter. The free emancipation of the captives by the Prophet (p.b.u.h) without taking out the Khumus from the booty.

16- بَابُ مَا مَنَّ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الأُسَارَى مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ يُخَمَّسَ:

English narration

Narrated by جبير بن مطعم القرشي

The Prophet (ﷺ) talked about war prisoners of Badr saying, "Had Al-Mut'im bin Adi been alive and interceded with me for these mean people, I would have freed them for his sake."

النص العربي

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ فِي أُسَارَى بَدْرٍ : "

لَوْ كَانَ الْمُطْعِمُ بْنُ عَدِيٍّ حَيًّا ، ثُمَّ كَلَّمَنِي فِي هَؤُلَاءِ النَّتْنَى لَتَرَكْتُهُمْ لَهُ

" .
