Book 4: The Book of Wudu (Ablution)

كِتَاب الْوُضُوءِ

Chapter 71

(71) Chapter. It is unlawful to perform ablution with Nabidh (water in which dates or grapes etc. are soaked and is not yet fermented) or with any other intoxicant.

71- بَابُ لاَ يَجُوزُ الْوُضُوءُ بِالنَّبِيذِ وَلاَ الْمُسْكِرِ:

English narration

Narrated by عائشة بنت أبي بكر الصديق

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "All drinks that produce intoxication are Haram (forbidden to drink).

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : "

كُلُّ شَرَابٍ أَسْكَرَ فَهُوَ حَرَامٌ

" .
