Book 43: The Book of Loans, Freezing of Property, and Bankruptcy

كِتَاب الِاسْتِقْرَاضِ وَأَدَاءِ الدُّيُونِ وَالْحَجْرِ وَالتَّفْلِيسِ

Chapter 13

(13) Chapter. The owner of the right has the permission to demand his right.

13- بَابُ لِصَاحِبِ الْحَقِّ مَقَالٌ:

English narration

Narrated by أبو هريرة الدوسي

A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and demanded his debts and used harsh words. The companions of the Prophet wanted to harm him, but the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Leave him, as the creditor (owner of the right) has the right to speak."

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلٌ يَتَقَاضَاهُ ، فَأَغْلَظَ لَهُ فَهَمَّ بِهِ أَصْحَابُهُ ، فَقَالَ : "

دَعُوهُ ، فَإِنَّ لِصَاحِبِ الْحَقِّ مَقَالًا

" .
