Abu Dawud · 5198يُسَلِّمُ الصَّغِيرُ عَلَى الْكَبِيرِ وَالْمَارُّ عَلَى الْقَاعِدِ وَالْقَلِيلُ عَلَى الْكَثِيرِAbu Hurairah reported the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: The young should salute the old, the one who is passing by should salute the one who is sitting, and a small company should salute a large one.5 narratorsAbu Dawud · 5199حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَبِيبِ بْنِ عَرَبِيٍّ , أَخْبَرَنَا رَوْحٌ , حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ , قَالَ :أَخْبَرَنِي زِيَادٌ , أَنَّ ثَابِتًا مَوْلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ أَخْبَرَهُ , أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ Abu Hurairah reported the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: one who is riding should salute one who is walking.
